What is an introductory service provider?

In Great Britain there are three independent bodies that regulate certain health and social care activities:

The Care Quality Commission - England (CQC)
The CQC is the independent regulator of health and adult social care in England. They make sure health and social care services provide people with safe, effective, compassionate, high-quality care and they encourage care services to improve. They monitor, inspect and regulate services and publish what we find. Where we find poor care, we will use our powers to take action.
The Care Inspectorate Wales (CIW)
The CIW register, inspect and take action to improve the quality and safety of services for the well-being of the people of Wales.
The Care Inspectorate Scotland (CIS)
The Care Inspectorate is a scrutiny body which supports improvement. That means they look at the quality of care in Scotland to ensure it meets high standards. Where they find that improvement is needed, they support services to make positive changes. Their vision is that everyone experiences safe, high-quality care that meets their needs, rights and choices. Their 600 staff work across Scotland, specialising in health and social care, early learning and childcare, social work, children’s services, and community justice.
